LMS Checkup

Monday, May 7th, 2007

A thought came up over the weekend:  Would LMS users pay for an unbiased assessement of their LMS?  I think they would:  Many training portals get stale over time.  There are useless or bad links, outdated content is not taken off, the “search” functionality becomes useless, and more….

Just like a good car, I believe an LMS should be “serviced” on a regular basis.  I’m going to work on a service offering later today.

Dr Seuss & Cat in the Hat

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

Today is the 50th anniversary of Dr. Seuss’ book, The Cat in the Hat – http://www.seussville.com/CITH_50th/.  Please go to the site and support literacy across America:  Send The Cat a birthday wish and Random House will donate one book to First Book.

Oh, the places you’ll go!  There is fun to be done!  There are points to be scored.  There are games to be won.”

Literacy, of course, is the first step to live-long learning, including virtual learning.

Please visit http://www.livewebclass.com/ this Monday:  A new “White Paper” section, validating virtual training, will be added.

Welcome to the LWC Blog!

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

It is March 1, and I am starting a new blog!  I am very excited about the potential and the opportunities.  I sincerely hope that over the next months and years, that this site and blog is useful to both the beginners and the expert in the world of live vrtual training. There is still much to be done, especially with the web site, www.livewebclass.com.  Consequently I will place my energies into adding more content, and more sections.  I know I need to add a Best Practices, a FAQ, and a News & Event section to the site, which I plan to insert by the end of the week.  If any of you see anything else so want / need, let me know.

My first review will be completed tomorrow, regarding a free collaboration suite called Vyew.  I will look forward to any comments and I will answer questions.  By the way, this month’s “theme” is video over the Internet (VideoIP).  Lot’s more to come on that.  Finally, I will be inviting guest bloggers to join me from time to time.  Let me know if you wish to voice your opinions as well!
